Fireflies... where are they? So, I finally saw a firefly about a month ago... why aren't there more in DC. I don't even recall seeing them in Maryland. Does this mean they are regional like cinnamon imperials?

Sometimes, things I miss are fireflies, hearing nothing but the crickets (not someone else's stereo/tv) and just having things be simple. No worries about going to the gym, meeting deadlines at work, finding a dogsitter, figuring out how I am going to get to the airport.

By the way... if you choose to support your favorite college team and where similar shirts with your significant other in G-Townl, then everyone will ask... "How long is your visit?"

So, I have finally gone head of heels into knitting. Made a (very) large shawl in a week and a purse in a couple of days. Figuring out what to do with the items once I make them is the feat.

When you hesitate before hitting snooze on your alarm clock, are you being lazy? If you answer yes, then I have become incredibly lazy. It is not like I am up at all hours of the night or that I have to get up before the sun rises. No, I just cannot manage to get out of bed this week. Except to hit that long bar on top of my alarm clock. I know, it is bad. Even when I put the alarm clock out of arms reach, I still have the urge to stay in bed no matter how annoying the sounds can be. I even go so far as to get up out of bed to turn off Kenny Chesney or even Shania Twain's new song and then climb back under the covers.

Okay... so the bead store in Dupont Circle is hiring. One of the managers is from Kentucky. I know this because she started chatting up Big Blue Basketball when I came in one day with a CatCrazy shirt on. And really no one gushes aboud Wildcat Basketball unless they were born in Kentucky, grew up there or went to school at the University. Except for that one guy from Waco, he was a bit of a fanatic, and then of course Mr. Vitale. So this weekend, I am going to test my odds at finding a part-timer either at Beadazzled or the Books A Million in the circle. Spending 10 or so hours a week at a store will help cure the occassional Bluegrass Blues and expand my social network.

I believe the homeless guy whose family was killed by ninjas moved on past the circle. I saw him for a couple of days with his ingenious sign "Ninjas killed my family. Need money for Kung Foo lessons." And now... he is gone. Maybe someone snagged him with a job... there are a lot of advertising and creative agencies in the circle.
